Samuel Leville Hill
I am a native of Atlanta, Georgia and I currently reside in Ellenwood. The Atlanta Public School System provided my elementary and secondary education. In May 2005, I received my Bachelor of Science Degree from Georgia State University in Recreation Management & Leisure Studies. My Internship and employment began with the City of Atlanta Bureau of Recreation as an After-School Program instructor and summer counselor. During this time, I became more aware of the needs of young children and especially at-risk youth.
In March 2008, I was employed by the Atlanta Public Schools and assigned to P. L. Dunbar Elementary School. I currently teach physical education and health I also serve as a coach and male role model. I am dedicated to making a difference in the life of each child. Learning the benefits of exercise and physical activities, knowledge of food groups and choices will influence their behavior and lead to a healthy lifestyle.
My philosophy is based on a firm belief that all children can learn. I understand that children’s ability to learn varies according to how well their individual needs, desires and interests are met. Because of the differences in the learning abilities of children, attention must be given to determining the unique needs of each learner. In order to achieve success in getting all children to reach their maximum learning potentials, we must provide for their specific needs. I feel that children learn best when the lesson is meaningful, relevant, useful, fun and exciting.
